Kotlin Multiplatform, SwiftUI, Coordinator Pattern
Built the Grey Finance iOS app from scratch using Kotlin Multiplatform and SwiftUI. The business logic is shared across Android and iOS, with a fully native SwiftUI layer on top.
Outcomes
- Shipped v1 cross-border banking app with payments and currency conversion for international users
- Shared KMP core business logic written once in Kotlin, consumed natively by Android and iOS
- Greenfield set the iOS architecture, module boundaries, and navigation model from day one
Architecture & Approach
Built the iOS app with Kotlin Multiplatform and SwiftUI to keep parity between platforms cheap. Brought in the Coordinator pattern with UIKit when SwiftUI's navigation didn't scale to the deep linking and modal flows fintech demands.
